Neck Pain
Many Americans suffer from neck pain. It can be the result of a tissue disorder like degenerative disc disease,
neck strain, pinched nerve, herniated disc, or whiplash. Some of the most common causes of neck pain can be work environment-related,
such as a lot of computer work or uncomfortable and unsupportive desk chairs, as well as previous car accidents.
Neck pain is also called cervical pain. The spine part of the neck is made up of seven vertebrae known as the cervical vertebrae;
they surround the spinal cord and canal. Discs rests in between these vertebrae, and the nerves of the neck are especially sensitive.
Treatment of neck pain will depend on the precise cause and include options such as rest, alternating ice/heat applications,
physical therapy, traction, massage, and spinal manipulation.
